seen from the perspective of Latin American realities, Israel should be grateful that corruption scandals hit the front of the newspapers, leading to investigation, trial and conviction of culprits. A society that reacts to a cancerous disease like corruption in this way, has a healthy and functioning "immune system", and can, if right measures are taken, cure itself from the disase. A fundamental factor for healing the scourge of corruption is an independent and strong judiciary and properly paid prosecutors that can drive a relentless course of investigation into alleged cases of corruption. A quick comparison to realities of Latin America should tell you that your scandals spelled across the front of the newspapers, is one thousand better than the silence and coverup that sadly is all too common in other parts of the world. In fact, maybe the appropriate dose of shame still has an effect on Israeli corruptors and corruptees?
