All right, you have shown your neocon colors with an ignorant comment that might play on Fox TV but should not play in this forum. But, irrespective of your very touching love for Lebanon you know nothing about and your idiotic claim to understand how “the Arabs and Muslims” think more than the US State Department, you deliberately omit Israel as a Middle East player in your laundry list of “don’t engage”. And that is where "you don't engage" really applies. Unless the West stops engaging the right wing Zionist junta in Jerusalem and simply imposes a just solution of the Palestinian problem ala Kosovo, it will be that junta that will end up creating an Israhell surrounded by a bunch of Palestans. Iran killing Americans in Iraq? Oy vay. If the US and Israel sponsor sabotage, kidnappings and killings in Iran, only a fool would expect passivity. As to Syria, exactly how does Syria benefit from an overture of the US? What can a bankrupt country offer to Syria? To be a pawn in its self-defeating game? To become another client state of the US like Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states?
