I am pretty well sheltered in my kibbutz from prejudice; we are a mixed group, Ashkenazim and Sephardim get along as though the difference doesn't exist at all. The one exception is when England plays Argentina or Brazil; but I guess that there are always exceptions to any generalization. During my many years in the Israeli army reserves, (millluim), I cannot remember a single instance of bad feelings in my battalion between the two groups. The mutual distaste of Ashkenazim and Sephardim evidently occurs mostly among the very religious. And yet, we apikorsim are expected by both religious groups to agree to their moral and ethical superiority. It's a good joke, no?
