First, let me say that as an American, I'm just an observer, it's the Israelis that have to live with the decisions, their opinion is more relevent than mine. Also, my son is not captive, so again, I'm just an observer. I fondly remember July 4th, 1976. The 200th birthday of the USA and the rescue of the Entebbe hostages. The mantra then was that Israel does not negotiate with terrorists. The reason was that it encourages more terrorism. I know an Entebbe resue of Schalit is not feasable. But when did Israel start to negotiate with terrorists and change the policy? How many will be killed at the hands of a freed terrorsit? How many more will be kidnapped to encorage an exchange? Again, I'm 10,000 miles away, so you can tell me to mind my own business and you would be right.
