This is in many ways similar to what happened to President Carter after his book Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid. His critics chose to go after him personally because they couldn't challenge his substantive points in the book. Now here is Israel going after Goldstone himself trying to discredit him, saying he's bias, etc. Same old story. If Israel objects to his findings than provide proof to the contrary of his substantive findings. The problem is they can't do that. It's much easier to go after the messenger in an obvious attempt to deflect from the main message at hand.
