    Surely if as you see it we are now witnessing the end of "US imperialism" it is more imperative than ever that Israel takes steps to ensure wider international support for its survival. America is bankrupt and its position as supreme world power is gradually being eroded. Israel will not be immune from these changes. It is therefore imperative for Israel - unless it really believes that it needs no support from elsewhere - to take the necessary steps to stop it from becoming an increasing international pariah. Given that, I would say that Israel needs Kerry a great deal and "to send him packing" would be counter to Israel's interests.
