Is this: "The parties differ greatly on the results they would like the conference to yield, with Abbas looking for agreement on core issues - Jerusalem, refugees and borders - while Olmert seeks a vague statement of interests." Why ISN'T the Israeli press pushing Olmert on this? Why AREN'T they asking him wether he really wants this conflict resolved, or not? Because: IF Bush is trying to set up a summit to try and find a way to peace in the Middle East AND Olmert is only interested in attending that summit to "seek a vague statement of interests" THEN you have to ask just how interested he really is in Israel achieving an end to this conflict. His reluctance to seize this opportunity points to a massive disconnect between rhetoric and action; between an Israel that SAYS it is only holding onto the WB because until a peace is achieved, and an Israel that ACTS as if peace is an annoying prospect that gets in the way of her plans for that land.
