There is so much disunity at the moment among Muslim states, and so many splinter this and splinter that groups, that today a "deal" would only work if it looked very much like what some people call the one state solution. The choice really is between a "one state" today that strongly defends Jews or a "one state" tomorrow that prevents Zionists from threatening others, tomorrow. The former would need more than most Zionists are ready to give, so the default is a nightmare transition that leaves even Jews cursing Zionism.
