The eroding lack of support for Israel in the United States is due to the perception that the American public has about the Israel lobby, which is not all that "kosher" and its influence on US foreign policy in the Middle East. Also, most of the neo-cons associated with the Bush administration and architects of the inmoral war against Iraq are Jewish themselves, plus the quest of the evangelical movement to "protect the State of Israel", not because they give a damn about Jewish people but because they are Bible and religious fanatics. Besides, one can't say anything negative nor disagree with Israel policy without being labeled anti-semitic by the Jewish far right and Republicans alike. Those of us who dared to disagree (Jewish and non-Jewish) are exposed to all kinds of name calling by the extremists. So we are sick and tired of the charade and have seen a growing number of Americans (who in the past supported Israel) expressing very negative feelings against Israel's ill policies
