Mark, we now know that the Syrians admit they know what the target was, which means it was hit. Otherwise, why change the story from "a hole in the ground"? It was clear in Israel that the mission was a success because everybody in the know was happy and even Netanyahu tried to receive credit. The remaining question is: What was actually the target, assuming it was in the building. I wonder if even Israel knows for sure. If the report of some nuclear material (I assume equipment) picked up by Israeli personnel before the raid are correct, then this equipment is probably destroyed.
