I've already speculation that somehow the US can control what happens in Egypt. It is kind of like the false speculation that somehow, the US or Jimmy Carter gave the Shah cancer and then refused to invade Iran when the Shah was overthrown to keep the Shah's government in place. On one other Israeli news website, there is already the implication that the US can reverse what is happening in Egypt. The idea is ludicrous. The US will not invade Egypt any more that Israel will to prop up Mubarak. It is not in the US interest to do so. Pinochet turned out to be a bad idea. So did Marcos. And when a country's armed forces stand aside, ending a popular movement like the USSR ended the Prague Spring is not a good idea, especially in the long term.
