I know Avrum will dislike this, but his positioning at the center of events owing to family connections is itself distorting. The premise of utopian redemption as attainable is no more valid in his secular humanist weltanschaung as in the theocratic ones. But when one comes close to being Prime Minister of Israel one readily believe otherwise. Not that peace is unattainable, it is, but not out of a dynamics of desperation and frustration. Kohelet Ecclesiastes can be a source of great spiritual comfort to those frustrated in their eschatological ambitions.
