Hi Yaakov, I suspect that there was much you sympathized with in this opinion piece by Mr. Beilin. Truth be told, there was much that I found to be on the mark as well. But though I have frequently disagreed with Yossi Beilin, please note the underlying concern with the fate of Israel and her citizenry. It is a quality which is absolutely missing from all the commentary you have ever posted on this forum. While many liberals (Gideon Levy, Amira Hass, Yaakov Sullivan) seem far more interested in earning the respect and admiration of a Euro-centric liberal elite, Beilin has demonstrated in his writing that first and foremost, he cares for the spiritual well being, and physical safety of Israelis. For this alone, he will receive the open ears of many more Israelis than you ever will. Though the Chomsky clique of radicals and reactionaries may encourage you at every turn, keep in mind that you have traded their embrace for any chance to influence our hearts. Good day.
