Is that the word "apartheid" has the power to shut off people's brains. The word is uttered, and magically, there is no need for further thought. The thing has been described, defined, authoritatively. It allows for group think, for mob rule. Allow it to go unchecked and it can devolve into dehumanization, paving the way for some pretty ugly scenarios. And it's all being done in the name of "progress".
