Why would the people of Israel be pleased that their PM distorted the U.S. President's remarks? Being tough and macho can be an impressive quality in a boxing ring but Bibi's deceptive, attention grabbing performance was embarrassing and deeply depressing. The whole world knows he lied and threw Obama under the bus and yet he's cheered at home? As far as his joing forces with Livni and dumping Lieberman, that seems to be another delaying tactic in order to give him a few more years to maintain the status quo. If that's the goal, that might be a wise move. But you're not suggesing anything substantive -- your "peace proposal" sounds like the existing Bibi formula which is a humiliating, unworkable non-starter -- hold onto every settlement and no discussion on the status of East Jerusalem. The Israelis and international community understood after 67 that that these territories would have to be returned with minor adjustments but the Israel of today seems to have forgotten the history and think they have as much or greater right to retain the territory. How will this conflict ever end?
