The father can take her to church. The mother can take her to Synagogue. When she's old enough, the child can choose which religion appeals to her. If not she can decide to become an atheist or an agnostic. Either way, who cares, really? The child was born Jewish, so she can't be thrown out, so to speak. She was baptized, so the church will always take her back. It seems to me she's getting the best of all possible worlds here. I wish I'd been able to choose.
