Aluf Benn misses the point completely. Tom Friedman’s article clearly says, what Arab revolutions are missing... is ‘extraordinary leadership’. It’s not only about removing dictators... but about a transition to a democratic process. Something nations in the Arab world have no experience with. More important, is that Aluf Benn doesn’t realize that this ‘extraordinary leadership’ Friedman talks about is also missing in Israel of today. If Netanyahu was to announce a settlement freeze... even for a short period of time. At the very least, negotiations would start. And that all by itself, would diminish Israeli hatred and isolation world wide.
