The Kotel is not run by the Haredim although they are the ones praying there in the hot sun everyday WOW do not. The Kotel is run along the lines of an orthodox synagogue and in an orthodox synagogue women do not do all these things that WOW and their supporters do. Whilst reform is the dominant strand in te US what gives them the right to say the Kotel must also be run based on reform attitudes, where is te Kotel America or Israel. Bennett has said he intends to create a proper reformist prayer section at Robinsons Arch which is part of the wall itself, the wall does not end at the plaza. WOW have rejected a reformist section at Robinsons Arch because they are a feminist movement and they believe Orthodox Judaism is discriminatory towards women and they have openly said the goal of their movement is to tear down all orthodox institutions in Israel this is just the beginning. If WOW accepted a reform section at Robinsons Arch their movement would die so they cannot accept reasonable compromises. The American movement WOW and their supporters in Israel are the minority and the bulk of the population in Israel who are interested in taking sides with anybody either prefer the plaza to be run along the lines of an orthodox synagogue or are content with the way things are. What WOW do so well is sell the image only the Haredim do not want change. At the end of the day though the only people whose views matter are the Israelis because Israel is a country in its own right and the Kotel is in Israel.
