    That term was invented by Egyptian pretender Arafat in 1964 when he was SElected to head PLO (renamed version of Haj-amin Husseini's "Palestinian movement") by Husseini--last-I-checked, that is PRIOR to 1967 when Jordan/Syria/Egypt attacked Israel and lost badly. The Arab nations LOST their territory in a war they started (all their governments were in "state of war" against Israel since 1948)--Egypt got some of its territory back (it didn't want the rest, Gaza Strip) due to its willingness to negotiate (the only other case of a winner withdrawing from won territory post-WW2 is that of India in 1972 from Shakargarh and Nagar Parkar Salients of Pornistan--and that was done UNILATERALLY by India). "Palestinians" were never a nation--reality is that "occupation" is like Bangla "occupation" of lands held 1947-1971 by Biharis!
