As an American friend of Israel, I do not understand how Israel has fallen so out of step with world opinion. The problem, dear friends, is the settlements. The continuing colonization of the West Bank has completely wiped out Israel's moral high ground. The Palestinians DO have sovereignty - if not in fact than in global perception - over the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. That, dear friends, is the future Palestinian State. The sooner Israel gets used to this fact, the easier its future will be. If you cannot control your religious nutcases, how do you expect the Palestinians in Gaza to do the same? And if the colonization does not stop, you will have only one state which will most decidedly not be Jewish. Is everyone okay with a future, binational Arab-Jewish state? As an American - who is not into Jewish or Muslim or Christian state - I am cool with that, but I don't think most Israelis are. So if they are not, why are you moving so clearly in that direction? Explain.

Why Barak regrets speaking out on Iran

There was no security breach in what the former defense minister said about how an attack was thwarted; what has suffered is mainly Israel’s image as a well-run, normal country whose leaders are capable of keeping a secret.

Not a migrant, not an immigrant – there has to be a third option, but he doesn't know how to say it in English, Arabic or Hebrew.

How the bagel went from shtetls to haute cuisine

A visit to the world's bagel capital is a chance to marvel at how this unassuming Jewish-Ashkenazi food has come from its 17th-century beginnings.
