    Israel's position has always been that the 1949 armistice lines were temporary, as well as indefensible given the proclivity of its neighbors for violent acts of war. What you call "nothing else" are in fact "disputed territories". In 1949 the states of the Arab League (minus the then non-existent Falasteen) refused to form an Arab state in Palestine and did not acknowledge ANY borders to Israel, despite the signing of these armistice agreements. Consider the value of their signature on an internationally sanctioned document and what that means for the trustworthiness of their commitment.. No wonder 1967 was a permissible and legitimate "defensive pre-emptive" action .
