Israel should neither start tomorrow with the dismantling of the whole West Bank (well, actually she should, but I don't expect her to do it immediately...), nor should she totally ignore the Hamas offer. The smart thing to do would be to start to talk directly to the Hamas leadership in order to find out, how serious they are with their offer. Even if Meshals statement was again disputed a few hours later, there can be no doubt that something is going on within Hamas. There would be absolutely nothing to lose for Israel by opening her diplomatic channels. Reasonable people would call this pragmatism.
