In the last presidential elections (2008), Obama became the democratic candidate inspite of Jewish support for Clinton, and their spreading rumors that Obama was a Muslim. There aren't many Jews in the US (2% of population), although they tend to concentrate in a few big states, the biggest of which go Democratic anyways. Jewish influence result from Jewish money, not numbers. However, Obama did not get much Jewish money. His method was to get an enormous number of people to contribute relatively small sums, and did it through the internet. This means that direct Jewish influence on Obama is insignificant. Jewish money can still buy the Congress, and money will keep coming in as long as Congressmen act according to the Lobby's dictates. But foreign policy is relatively not under Congress' control. So Lauder can bark, but he cannot bite.
