I understand that losing US funding would be a blow to UNESCO, but I cant figue out what impact, if any, Israel refusing to co-operate with UNESCO would be. I assume it means that Israel would ignore any designations of cultural sites that UNESCO makes, but then presumably UNESCO would not fund any Israeli sites (which I would guess are main-stays of tourism to Israel). In the end I suppose it would simply add to Israel's international isolation as yet another circumstance where Israel refuses to adhere to collective decisions.
