If there was an Iranian nuke scientist that did what Vanunu did and Iran treated him like Israel has and is treating Vanunu, the Israeli govt. and many of the hawks on this forum wouldve been screaming about how barbaric Iran is and how this is a crime against humanity and againt that mans human rights and all. And if you are at the moment shaking your head, then how about the way many Israelis regard Jonathan Pollard. They see him as a hero, they say he should be freed and should come to Israel and all that when HE IS A BY THE BOOK TRAITOR. Vanunu did nothing that could jepordize Israel's security, he just confirmed what the world already suspected. Furthermore, what right does Israel have to attack Iran for having a peaceful nuke program when Israel has nukes and is at war with 2 countries and an entire people, and the fact that IT has used WMDs in war in a law breaking way (cluster bombs in Lebanon among others).

from the article: Vanunu convicted of violating order barring foreign contacts

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, February 16, 2016.

If Merkel also criticizes Israel, life is not a piece of cremeschnitte

The Israeli reaction to Der Spiegel's report on the German chancellor's frustration with Netanyahu was ridiculous, even Orwellian; as if Israelis were aliens who had just landed from another planet.

Boycott is the only way to stop the Israeli occupation

Aluf Benn's proposal for Israel's left to establish a base of domestic support for its positions is hopeless considering the brainwashing and increasing extremism of our society.
