What if, god forbid, this miscommunication was an actually emergency, isn't nice to know that the Israeli defenses are ready in the snap of a finger to protect its citizens? Do we remember 1976? Entebbe? I was born in 1980, but I know the story very well. It is ironic, and unfortunate, that this event occured so soon after the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv on Thursday. You may ask how they managed to scramble fighter jets so quickly, yet were unable to detect, locate, and detain the suicide bomber. I remind you that for the one terrorist that slithers into Israel occasionally, dozens are stopped before they can complete their murder missions. If the flight was not El-Al, if the destination wasn't Israel, would this have happened? No. But Israel isn't willing to risk the consequences of not doing what it had done. Kol hakavod!
