With all due respect to Joel A. Levitt, negotiations cannot work because there is no one on the Palestinian side to implement them. Abbas has refused to disarm the various terrorist groups which was part of all the agreements that were negotiated in the past and he had agreed to thus far. Israel is the only one that has taken any steps to implement the various agreements (including the Gaza Pullout) and then gets shot in the foot with another terrorist attack. You can negotiate until your blue in the face, but if the Palestinian leaders refuse to adhere to the agreements after lengthy negotiations, what next? More negotiations? It's insane! Unilateralism is the only answer. Build the wall higher and longer. Let them stew in their own juices and see if they can have any kind of future without Israel's help. The Palestinians are a useless and ignorant people who never learn from their past because they are always changing it to suit their ineptitude.
