Israelis must ask themselves a very simple question: what did zionist leaders like Arens, Shamir, Sharon, Barak, and so on do for them? The answer is simple: failure upon failure. A cumulation of idiotic moves and adventures, pushed by arrogance and stubbornness, that led to todays situation. (and yes Arab leaders have more than their share of similar idiotic moves!). The first idiotic move is obviously to have occupied Palestinian territories, then stayed on. Idiotically thinking that what you take by force you can always keep. That may be true if we were in the street or in a jungle where the powerful take his prey and eats it. Between nations, the rules are different. Something Arens and his likes failed to notice. Building settlements on occupied land was the most idiotic of decisions. The Intifadah, the stone throwing and Qassams are the children of those idiotic decisions made by narrow minded leaders.

Friendship, in contrast to love, does not make us suffer. (Illustration)

This Valentine's day, celebrate not love, but the sublime bond of friendship

Friendship is free of the indignities, suffering and drama that characterize romantic love; it doesn't have an expiration date; we rarely suspect it to be a figment of our imagination. But love is what fuels our economy.
