1) Lebanese opposition forces, most probably Sunni Moslem, are trying to draw Israel into the conflict, hoping an Israel blow against Hezbollah will cause it to collapse. 2) Hezbollah itself fired the missile, hoping that an Israeli reaction will divert Arab, Moslem and world attention away from its intervention in the Syrian civil war. 3) Less probably, forces sympathizing with the Syrian rebels somehow managed to fire the missile from Lebanon, hoping to draw Israel into the conflict. Whatever the source, I hope our government weighs its optons carefully.
