Is Mr. Laor correct? Is the percentage of followers of Kahane in the universities that much greater than in the general population? Where are the figures to support his theory? The racism of a substantial part of the general public is fairly well documented, but even among racists there is no unity regarding the degree of how extremism they are prepared to implement. Still, Mr. Laor is right, Kahane lives. The medicine to treat the illness is the same as that to treat the illness of Arab extremism; peace must be the over riding goal of all whom do not automatically hate "the other". Kahane was also right regarding the necessity of a choice being made, but not as he supposed. The choice is between a few thousand acres of dirt and peace. Translated into politics, the choice is between politicians pandering to the lowest common denominator, and politicians capable of exercising good will.
