In a few hours time four of the six Australian are to come off daylight saving. The length of the daylight saving period just ended is only four days longer than Shtrasler's figures. I am no fan of Yishai, far from it, but I think those four south-east Australian states actually provide a better example in terms of distance from the equator than either the United States or Europe. It is much more similar to Israel and the length here is generally regarded as sensible. I don't think that is Yishai's motivation but perhpas the situation may not be so bad.
