Saddam put all his eggs in one basket. Iran attacked it, and then Israel. Osirak was ruined. Did that REALLY stop Saddam? No. Israel struck Osirak while Iraq was TOTALLY involved in a war it started with Iran. Saddam believed that all he had was to attack Iran, it would collapse, and Iraq could take the oil fields he wanted. The collapse never happened, the war absorbed all of Iraq's resources and everything the west and Soviets could supply as well as a fortune from the House of Saud. With Saudi funding, Saddam's delayed - not destroyed - nuclear weapons program progressed, slowly, until after the war with Iran ended. The raid on Osirak was no where as important as the war with Iran in delaying the Iraqi bomb. Before that war was over, the Saudi funded Pakistani program had succeeded and funding for Saddam's bomb had dried up. Still, Saddam's pathetic program proceeded until he decided that all he had to do was attack Kuwait and it's oil, and victory would be assured. The Gulf War convinced Iraq to give up on it's bomb, and it's WMD. Then, because we believed our own lies, we decided all we had to do was attack and everything would fall into our laps. . . Bush was as deluded as Saddam. The world is full of that kind of right-wing lunatic with delusions. They learned nothing from Hitler, Tojo, Mussolini, Saddam or George W. Bush. The believe that all they have to do is start the war, and it will automatically end they way they wish.

For French teen studying in Israel, it's all about being a Jew among Jews

Arrivals / Departures: Anti-Semitism in France is certainly not the reason why this teen chose to come to Israel; an Israeli whose relatives perished in the Holocaust finds living in Berlin 'perfectly fine.'
