Barak is the only politician who regularly objected to this government's terrible actions about settlements, relations with the USA, and other important subjects, the last being, of course, the rejection of the 3 month freeze. He does all that within reason, as it cannot be done openly - like telling Lieberman in the face his opinion about him - without leaving the government. But, and a huge BUT, he knows that only he can save, as far as this will be possible, Israel from its terrible enemies who want to attack civilians, not armies....One needs great intelligence for that and in this respect he IS superior to the other generals. Also, I will never forget what Barak offered to Arafat in 2000, namely, practically the whole West Bank, at a time when that was inconceivable to most Israelis !!! And idiot, Nobel Laureate, Arafat, did not take it! .....I mention this to make it clear where Barak's soul is in relation to the settlements ..... At the same time, he has plenty of a negative comportment, yet, in the balance of Israel's existence, the bad about Barak is insignificant compared to the good!

from the article: Ehud Barak is a parody of a leader
