Knew the difference between Arabs and Jews. Now maybe the rest of the article had valib points, but I simply could not get pass that initial articulation of premium, pure grad, shtuyot! Racism is NOT innate or second nature in children. It is learned; more specifically, learned from their parents or whatever environment they are coming from. I have a 4 year old nephew, who's in a family that is as ethnically (and religiously) diverse as can be. He doesn't view those who are different than him as "other" nor does he view them negatively just because they are different. As a matter of fact, he doesn't even have a concept of race or ethnicity! Children learn what they see. If they have parents constantly reinforcing the "us vs them" or the "this is our normal world, and that is their not so normal world" then yes—the kid will absorb some of it. Racism is LEARNED. palin and simple!
