That's on par with China, and easily in the top 5% of countries world-wide. Per capita GNP in the West Bank is ahead of that of India. In the WB, because the PA has cleaned most of the "resistance" gangs from the streets, tourism and shopping trips to the WB by Arab Israelis are up significantly. Exports are up too. If growth is leaving many Palestinians behind, this is because the PA is still run by gangsters, not because of Netanyahu's policies. Netanyahu's government (which I criticize on other grounds) has made a significant effort and taken significant risks to improve the situation in the WB. Fayyad has been much more pragmatic than the average Palestinian leader. But he has to work within a disastrously corrupt system, and the PA, overall, continues to prefer hysterical incitement to violence over peacemaking. Stop pointing the finger at Israel on this one. 8%+ growth *IS* an economic boom. It's up to the PA to make sure that the boom reaches ALL WB Arabs.
