'Abbas and Haniyeh will have to rule with an iron fist' Of course, that's a mighty big "if;" but from the optimistic point of view, if the worst thing that could happen is a temporary lull in the violence - there is obviously some benefit to that. It is at least encouraging to see Saeb Erakat condeming the continuing rocket fire. The question is: what relatively minor detail will either side seize upon to declare the truce irreparably breached? (down the road, a 'failure' by Israel to evacuate a single building in the Old City - even if it was bought on the open market by Jews - could be the next Shebaa Farms-style sticking point.) There's a very long way still to go, eh?
