is a profoundly serious violation. Assad needs to immediately fire those responsible and prosecute them. (b) he needs to understand why the supply of chemical weapons are so dangerous. If they can be used by his own army on a rogue basis, then those rogues can pass them onto terrorists who would not have one iota of reservation to use them. If the report is true, Assad needs to order the destruction of all the chemical weapons. So, prosecution of those who are responsible and elimination of the chemical weapons. Were those things to occur, that would be a justificaiton to not attack Syrian targets. I don't think that Assad will do these things. Though, if the report is true, he may not have approved of the use of chemical weapons, it is also true that (a) he may well have, through his conduct, acquiesed to the use use of those weapns & (b) he knows that he may not survive if he goes apfter those responsible and seeks to eliminate those weapons.
