Even if Saddam did have chemical or biological weapons, so do plenty of other countries. its not that hard to find yourself in possesion of wmd, when wmd is defined so loosely. any self-respecting military force in todays world would want to be armed with such materials. moreover, america itself had no qualms whatsoever with Saddams use of chemical weapons during his war with Iran. WMD have nothing to do with americas occupation of Iraq. They were just the poorly drummed-up causus belli for invasion. Its about control over diminishing oil resources. Moreover, its about securing the fact that oil continues to be traded in US dollars, which, since the demise of the gold standard, is the principle upon which the entire US economy is unwittingly founded. Saddam's pre-war decision to start selling his oil in Euros (somehow the mainstream media missed this) essentially sealed his already compromised fate. You can ramble on all you want about WMD. But youre wasting your time. Its about scarcity of resources, namely the Bush administration's peak-oil-pessimism and all the implications that entails. Google it if you dont believe me. Keep deluding yourselves if you want. It doesnt change a thing.
