    It is true that the first aliya (wave of Jewish immigration to Palestine) was colonialist. But ever since the second aliya (which took place between 1903 and 1914), the Zionist movement was no longer colonialist. As for the fact that we have established our state in a territory that was already populated, we didn't do that merely because the Jews lived in Palestine 2,000 years ago. We did it because we were a landless and persecuted people. Therefore, we had no other choice but to settle in a territory that was already occupied. What should've been the alternative, go to the slaughter like sheeps? This is why the Zionist movement was born, and this is why we chose to go back to the land of Israel.
