I am sick of the government saying that people can come to Israel if they have a mickey mouse conversion or if a foreign worker wants to stay they say they convert to Judaism. Either we say your not Jewish so you can't come or if your already here you cant stay or we say your nor Jewish but we will let you come or stay anyway. Insisting the idea that people convert to Judaism so they can come is an insult to the whole concept of a Jewish state and to the religion itself. People who are already Jewish no matter what standard should of course be allowed to come but anybody who wants to convert for the express purpose of making alliyah should be forced to make a proper orthodox conversion that means they believe in what they are doing and they are not going to come to Israel and once drop who whole farce of being Jewish and will go back to the way they were before. Israel has lost alot of its Jewish character since the first wave of Soviet immigration. We allowed hundreds of thousands of Russians to go through the motions of conversion so they could come and once they had Israeli citizenship they want back to their pre conversion lifestyle. If Israel ever looses its Jewish identity it wont be because of a right of return granted to arabs but the fact we just let anybody come along as long as they say they are going to convert but these conversions are for the passport not because they believe it or intend to practice once all the legalities are over,
