Today's GOP has been hijacked by the Military-Industrial Complex whose bread and butter agenda is a endless, unwinnable wars. Old enough to remember well Eisenhower's 1952 campaign in which he was the peace candidate wanting to end the very unpopular Korean War. All I've known in my lifetime are failed wars--Korea, Viet Nam and Iraq. Reckless military adventures broke the budget and helped wreck the value of the dollar. Too bad Israel joined up with Britain and France in 1956 in their failed attempt to restore their imperial glories. Had Israel out it might today have already enjoyed decades of peace with its neighbors. America's problems with Iran has that "1956" odor about it. Israel would be making a big mistake, and perhaps an existential one at that, joining America in its mad rush to start yet another ME war.
