This US administration is exceedingly inept in foreign affairs, and run by lawyers who know US law and respect it, but also believe that such legal principles should spread all over the world as soon as possible. They do not know other cultures and do not understand their different legal traditions and national desires. Bush tried to export his values by force, while Obama and Hillary try doing it by pressure at "opportune" moments. Example: The recent US debacle in Lebanon (which is very significant, but forgettable in comparison with Egypt dangers). The US' advice/command was for Lebanon to stick with the International court investigating Hariri Sr.'s murder, and the Son followed it. The least that would have happened was an insurrection by Hizballah or a civil war. Fortunately for everybody, the Druze understood the threat and helped bring down the Hariri government by Kosher parliamentary means. Now Hizballah is in power, and Lebanon will no doubt disconnect itself from the international court. Egypt seems to be doing OK now, despite US intervention. It will be good if the new constitution prohibits anti-democratic movements (such as the Muslim Brotherhood) to run for elections. After all, we don't need a repeat performance of the Nazi party that gained power by democratic means. Expect Obama to object, after all, the US does not have such a limitation on the "right to be elected". I hope Egypt ignores US constitutional ideas. Ignorants like Obama and Hillary should learn, not preach.
