It is good to hear this discussion about our relationship to law. I think another source of Israeli antinomianism is the break, in establishing the state, with the traditional national form of community bound (held together) by its own laws, a non state form. Those laws, their source and their administration, are not appropriate in the state context, and we haven't learned to make anything as reliable or as human as what we have left behind. Dan Segre compared Israel to African countries post colonialism; and we haven't worked through our independence psychologically, politically. Past traumas and the present freedoms we might have had, and only very partially know how to enjoy.
