In a sign of solidarity Reform Congregrations across N. America will participate in "Our Israel: A Reform Response". The wkend will include education, information, open discussion, and of course prayer w/supplemental worship. Hopefully this will answer questions for those that do not understand the importance of Israel; not only for Jews in the diaspora but to the free world as a whole. There is no doubt that Israel must do everything possible to survive-I do not believe Israel committed war crimes, what I do see is the same old anti-Semitism/Zionism that has bee. One needn't be Orthodox to to stand in solidarity with Israel. Nor do I think every Jew must be part of any Jewish movement, but personally I would rather that Jews who don't understand the fundamental importance of Israel and don't honor their Judaism not call themselves Jews at all. And yes, for those Jews that are anti-Jew/Israel or totally secular-if the time ever comes again they will be killed along with the rest of us.
