There were a lot of frightened people in the US after 911 who thought that Al-Qaeda might just be able to pull off the destruction of America. So it doesn't surprise me that some of these weaklings (like "professor Everett") would get a boner for Syria and Iran when they offered to help save us. But those of us who kept our wits understood the Syria/Iran offers of help for what they were: opportunistic plays for regional hegemony in the wake of a collapsing superpower. We were right. The US didn't collapse. We are stronger now than ever before. And the axis of evil is back where it belongs, begging for crumbs.
