OK this may kind of go over your head, but I'll try anyway: as of 2010, China has the second largest nominal GDP in the world. Its annual average GDP growth in the last decade puts it squarely equivalent to all of the G7 countries' growth COMBINED. in the span of a decade between mid 90's and mid 2000's, China pulled some 270 MILLION of its citizens above the poverty line - which should be impressive considering that is equivalent to 2/3rd of all western european countries' population. It's trading economy is the second largest in the world (behind only the US). Sure, she has a long way to go, but that long way isn't generations away, may one or two at the max. And unless you're a teenager, that's not a long time. And for a wandering jew, you seem to have quite a rigid perspective (no pun)....What people like you fail to see (mostly the western self-obssessive, self-indulgent individuals), many people love their cultures and wouldn't want to part with them. That is especially true of Eastern cultures. Last time I checked the gates of London or New York weren't embracing immigration influx for the rural harworking chinses whom you so passionately talk about. That majority has guaranteed jobs in their China. Every single gadget in my house in Made in China and I'm sure that's true of yours. Last but not least, Polo was invented by PERSIANS and again, you're welcome!!! DUH

Why Barak regrets speaking out on Iran

There was no security breach in what the former defense minister said about how an attack was thwarted; what has suffered is mainly Israel’s image.

Sayed Kashua's no immigrant, but what is he?

Not a migrant, not an immigrant – there has to be a third option, but he doesn't know how to say it in English, Arabic or Hebrew.

How the bagel went from shtetls to haute cuisine

A visit to the world's bagel capital is a chance to marvel at how this unassuming Jewish-Ashkenazi food has come from its 17th-century beginnings.
