The Mossad was behind this killing. Even if there was an Egyptian or Jordanian proxy involved. These are the only two Arab states that have a peace treaty with Israel. The first step in finding a murderer is to assess motive. Since Israel always has the greatest motive in the death of any Hamas, Hizbollah, or other anti-Israel militant, this means that Israel will always be the prime suspect. When an "ally" of Israel is implicated, this does not remove all suspicion from Israel. It only goes to method and strategy. In this issue we see the usual two handed response of Israel. On the first hand Israel considers an active Mossad to be a deterrent to its enemies and an asse to the nation. On the other hand, when anything happens which points to Mossad involvement, Israel is all denials. We see this two handed Israeli response in many areas, including the IDF.
