To my friend from Potomac: After making aliyah from the US four years ago, I completed my army service with pride and in service to my country as a combat solider. And from my army experience I can only say this: IF YOU BELIEVE THE BORDER POLICE IS INNOCENT IN THIS INCIDENT, YOU ARE SITTING IN MIDDLE-CLASS AMERICA AND LYING TO YOURSELF. Peaceful political demonstrations in the occupied territories are often broken-up by border policeman using a level of brutality one might only expect to find in the third world. They often behave like animals. There is simply no other word to describe their behavior.What happened here is very simple, very clear, and for those who have witnessed such events, quite believable. A courageous young Israeli who stood up for his beliefs nonviolently was shot in the eye by a border policeman at a distance of 20m for no reason and he might never regain his eyesight.This is not a matter of political sides or "spin", rather a matter of conscience and justice.
