The cutline (caption) in the photo says that "Voter turnout has gone down and may drop further." That statement is misleading - at best. A check of turnout in the last decade on the elections website - http://www.bechirot.gov.il/elections19/eng/history/PercentVotes_eng.aspx - shows a few things: turnout in the 2000's is below that of previous decades, but was up in '09 compared to '06 and was ahead of the 2001 "direct election" that shattered voter turnout. And the data also show a significant increase in "registered" (ie, eligible) voters, so there is certainly a hope and potential for voting to increase percentage-wise, as well as total. Finally, our voting percentages continue to outstrip - by far - those of the good old USA.
