Being a fellow Vietnam vet, I'm really disappointed with DoD secretary Chuck Hagel ever sine he voted for Bush #43's war in Iraq.when he was a senator. And you can also include the usual suspects: Sen. John McCain, secretary of state Sen. John Kerry, former secretary of state Colin Powell.. They're all Vietnam vets who have learned nothing from that war. We are sleepwalking through history and heading toward a watershed moment in the Middle East. And I'm against any intervention in the Syrian civil war. It's a proxy war with the potential to explode in our faces just as the Vietnam War, another proxy war did,.for LBJ. But so far Obama has stayed on the sidelines. He knows average Americans have had with these wars in this region. More weapon systems will just add more fuel on the embers in Syria giving all the allies a false sense of confidence. But the interventionists inside the beltway bubble are really applying pressure on Obama to do something on Syria. They really would love to intervene. Of course, they never actually fight in these interventions when they spin out of control as happened in my war in Vietnam. Sad what has happened to my country since the Vietnam War.
